What if I'm wrong about them?

Good question to keep asking — and a sign of empathy, not narcissism. The reflection isn't a verdict on the person. It names patterns in behavior. A clinician makes the diagnosis; we just give you vocabulary.

Will this make things worse?

What is love bombing?

Love bombing is an overwhelming rush of affection, attention, gifts, and future promises early in a relationship — faster and more intense than trust has had time to earn. It feels like destiny; it functions like acceleration. The test isn't whether affection is big, but whether it respects your pace and survives your first 'no.'

What it looks like

Declarations of love or soulmate language within days or weeks.
Constant contact — and unease or guilt-tripping when you're unavailable.
Big gifts or plans that make slowing down feel ungrateful.
Pressure to commit, move in, or cut off 'doubters' quickly.

Why it works

Intensity feels like intimacy, especially if you've been starved of care. But healthy love builds; it doesn't ambush. The love-bomb phase often sets up the devaluation that follows — the memory of the perfect beginning keeps you chasing its return.
