Small, persistent probing of where your limits actually are — a comment you didn't push back on, a favor you grudgingly agreed to — that establishes a new baseline of compliance.

What it looks like

First it was "can I check your phone, just this once." Then it was every Sunday. Now it's daily and they're irritated when you don't volunteer. No single ask seemed unreasonable in the moment. The line moved one inch at a time.
